Goods transport

Areas of Expertise (1)

Goods transport is a key factor in the economic development of enterprises and regions. At the same time, it can be held responsible for major nuisance such as noise annoyance, air pollution, the deterioration of road infrastructure, fuel consumption, road safety problems, etc.

The implementation of high-performance, innovative and sustainable solutions in this field requires a thorough knowledge of the transport operations and mechanisms throughout the logistic chain, from collection at the factory through urban distribution. It then becomes possible to meet specific needs or tackle specific problems (e.g. planning HGV routes in an existing road network, night deliveries, adaptations to transport equipment, searching for alternatives to the road mode, using cleaner vehicles), or to make scientific contributions to more comprehensive mobility policies (e.g. multicriteria analysis of allowing LHVs on our roads, the impact of night deliveries).
